...Bruce Roberts, RPh, NCPA Executive Vice President and CEO
NCPA’s 42nd Annual Conference on National Legislation and Government Affairs is the most empowering opportunity you’ll have this year to advocate for your profession, business, and patients. The need is critical in an atmosphere full of uncertainty and unresolved debate. Now that health care reforms are enacted into law, we face a long road to implementation of provisions like PBM transparency. The legislation created a variety of benefits, challenges and questions. Come to Washington to learn about and shape the road ahead.
The Legislative Conference schedule is condensed to make it easy to fly in on Monday morning and fly out on Wednesday afternoon. Here are some highlights:
- Monday, May 10—This 1 p.m. session includes grassroots training and issue briefs from CMS, NCPA, and Capitol Hill insiders. An exciting perspective at this conference is a panel of behind-thescenes professionals who handle our issues as Congressional Committee staff.
- Tuesday, May 11—The Sal D’Angelo PAC Breakfast (special guest speaker Tucker Carlson, news correspondent and commentator) is in the morning followed by Congressional speakers. The popular Congressional Reception is held in the evening on Capitol Hill.
- Wednesday, May 12—Rally early on Capitol Hill with speeches from pharmacy champions before delivering the community pharmacy message in meetings with your elected officials.
