Fibromyalgia affects an estimated 5% to 7% of the U.S. population and it accounts for 5% of all general medicine visits and up to 20% of all visits to rheumatologists. Since a successful treatment regimen requires a multidisciplinary approach, pharmacists play a major role in caring for patients with fibromyalgia.
