Sunday, October 18 (7:30—9:00 a.m.)

Who is the patient and what do they mean to your pharmacy? Opportunities abound with the uninsured and underinsured, opportunities that extend beyond the traditional "clinic" settings to family planning clinics, student health clinics and other covered entities. With the services that independent pharmacists can bring to the table, like medication therapy management and delivery the patient wins, the facility wins and the pharmacy wins carrying improved patient care deep into the community. This session will give you insight to the program and "next steps" to become a 340B provider.

Pharmacy Based Take Back Programs: A Safer and Greener Solution and Community Service Opportunity
Monday, October 19 (2:30—4:00 p.m.)

Situation: unused prescriptions sit in medicine cabinets potential landmines for prescription diversion, abuse, and accidental poisonings. Unused medications have been dumped in drains and in the trash often seeping into the water supply. Geological surveys from every part of the nation show the presence of pharmaceuticals in the lakes, streams and groundwater. Solution: community pharmacists have capitalized on the growing demand for green solutions in the community by launching prescription drug take back programs. These colleagues will show you how, with very little investment, you can create a community service that pays dividends in good will differentiating your pharmacy and creating strong ties to your community.

Booming Boomer Business: Specialty Niche Products and Services for the Aging Population
Tuesday, October 20 (2:15—3:45 p.m.)

Baby boomers, a rapidly growing segment of your practice, expect to live well at home. Explore new niche concepts, marketing and business pearls for your home care business, including mobility and home conversions that help you fill this need. Learn about new funding sources beyond insurance and Medicare. This session will bring you new ideas and old ideas that have made successful comebacks that can bring new revenue to your pharmacy.

NCPA Foundation 20th Annual Signature Fundraising Auction
and Reception
Saturday, October 17 (5:30—7:30 p.m.)

Join us for an evening of good times and spirited bidding. Appetizers and beverages will be served. Proceeds from the NCPA Foundation Annual Auction support a variety of foundation activities including student scholarship and educational loan programs, critical research, public outreach, community services programs, pharmacy ownership education, and disaster assistance to independent pharmacy owners.
