NCPA VIRTUAL MENTOR: Virtual HelpDesk for Users

The Virtual Mentor FAQ and KnowledgeBase provide answers to questions that you may have about becoming an independent pharmacy owner. If the answer to your question is not found in a search of the FAQ/KnowledgeBase, you can submit a question to a Mentor, but you must be a registered user to submit a question.

To become a Registered User, select or click on "Create a Profile" and complete the registration form. You will receive a Welcome e-mail that contains your login information. Once you log into the system, you can submit a question to a Mentor.

The following information also provides guidance on how to effectively use the NCPA Virtual Mentor system.

This HelpDesk is designed to be printed. Set your margins to ½", then print a hardcopy of this document for future reference.

Registered Users
ACCESS THE MEMBER AREA

This Web panel is where visitors can search the FAQ entries and KnowledgeBase articles, send inquiries, register, login, and more. To go directly to specific areas of the Virtual Mentor system, use the following URLs.

This is the first page a User reaches after logging into the Virtual Mentor system. A question can be submitted in the Query Details section of this page

  How to search the FAQ and KnowledgeBase:

Click on "Search FAQ/KnowledgeBase" to go to the Search FAQ/KnowledgeBase page.

Virtual Mentor system
Description
Choose a search area and category (or categories)
Database Choose to search the FAQ, KnowledgeBase, or both
Category Mark any or all categories to search (click on the "browse" link to check all records listed in any specific category)

Note: All entries will be searched if no category is selected.

Specify the search query
Fuzzy Select "Fuzzy" and enter a question to start an intelligent search
Exact Select "Exact" and specify keywords to start a classic search

Click on the button "Search" to begin the search.

  How to ask a question:

Post an inquiry from the "Ask a Question" page. This procedure, which is spread over two screens, allows a user to create a new case or search the FAQ/KnowledgeBase.

Category Select the appropriate category
Subject Type in a subject for the inquiry
Message Type the question or message
Optional inquiry fields
Priority Choose the appropriate priority
Skip FAQ/KnowledgeBase search Mark this button in order to bypass the FAQ or KnowledgeBase databases

Click on the button "Continue" after all fields are filled in.

Depending upon the selections, found search results in FAQ and KnowledgeBase databases appear first (done by using fuzzy logic search algorithms based upon inquiry details).

If the inquirer's question could not be answered by the FAQ and KnowledgeBase search, the inquiry can be posted for Mentor interaction.

FORGOT PASSWORD

The Virtual Mentor system is capable of e-mailing a forgotten password to any registered Mentor and User.

To submit a request for the system to send a password to the e-mail on file:

  • Mentor: Go to the Mentor login and click "Mail Password" or "Forgot your password? Click here!"
  • User: Go to the User login and click "Mail Password"
