What led you to a career in independent community pharmacy?

It sounds trite, but the desire to help my friends and patients. I enjoy helping the community grow and prosper- a good business is the backbone to the town. I love to get up and go to work

What makes your pharmacy standout from the competition?

Like any good neighborhood pharmacy, service. Helping determine the most effective therapy at the most affordable price.

What are your biggest challenges?

Like everyone else, trying to make local leaders and politicians understand the negative financial impact of mail order and other political issues.

Describe a recent, rewarding experience with a patient:

Being credited with saving a patient's life recently. We recognized the severity of her post operative infection and made her return to the hospital to the surgeon although the NP told her to go home, two days in a row, and that everything was alright. Staph infection in the neck post operatively to back surgery, Within 30 minutes of arrival to the hospital she was prepped for surgery again.

How has NCPA helped your business?

By helping our profession to try to not become a commodity. Being able to attend conventions and meetings is a major help.
