What led you to a career in independent community pharmacy?
First two years after licensure working for a chain pharmacy, I knew that I wanted a different type of practice that was more personal and clinical.
What makes your pharmacy standout from the competition?
Establishing a "personal pharmacist" practice, personal problem solving, vaccinations, proactive in drug-induced nutritional deficiencies.
What are your biggest challenges?
Time to solve PBM created problems. Compensation for cognitive services and prevention education of patients and drug regimen reviews for side effects and interactions.
Describe a recent, rewarding experience with a patient:
Patient presented with localized rash and site pain following visits to two physicians. I looked at the site with a magnifying glass and I removed a stinger. The patient returned home and called me to express gratitude that the pain subsided almost immediately.
