Pharmacist's years of service: 20 years
What led you to a career in independent community pharmacy?
My dad was a pharmacist so I grew up around the profession.
What makes your pharmacy standout from the competition?
We have strong community and medical relationships. We offer the fastest and friendliest service in town. We have a great staff with low turnover. Our RPs have an average of 15 years of service at our pharmacy. My techs have an average of 10 years of service at our pharmacy.
What are your biggest challenges?
Mandatory mail order and PBMs which are ruining our profession.
Describe a recent, rewarding experience with a patient:
I have them every day. I recently helped a patient save $100/month by switching them to the same drug with a slightly different release.
How has NCPA helped your business?
They are our voice to the decision makers in D.C. They don't understand our profession and we need the NCPA to get our story across and educate them about the deception they (PBMs) are using. NCPA is our unifying entity.
