Alexandria, Va. - Jan. 24, 2011
Alexandria, Va. (January 24, 2011)— The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) announced today that the Partners in Pharmacy Cooperative (PIPCo) has signed up all of its members for membership in NCPA.
"PIPCo is dedicated to the support of independent pharmacies and keeping them profitable in a competitive marketplace," said Robert J. Greenwood, RPh, NCPA President and Iowa pharmacy owner. "We at NCPA share that same dedication to independent pharmacy's future and ability to continue providing expert medication counseling and other cost-saving services to patients. While PIPCo's leadership and many of its members have long been a part of NCPA, we are glad to now have all PIPCo members join us."
Gene Brah, Executive Director of PIPCo stated, "To recognize the strength and importance of NCPA to Main Street community pharmacy, one needs but to examine the legislative victories won by NCPA this past year; for its dedication to the cause we are thankful. This year once again we will face many challenges. For NCPA to respond effectively we invite all IPOs to consider increasing their financial support of NCPA—The Voice of Independent Community Pharmacy."
NCPA is the leading advocate in Washington and around the country for independent community pharmacies and their patients. In addition to benefitting from and supporting NCPA's advocacy efforts, PIPCo members will now have access to additional perquisites of NCPA membership, including financial benchmarking, via the NCPA Digest, sponsored by Cardinal Health; exclusive peer-to-peer Members Forum discussions and updates on health care reform implementation; programs like Dispose My Meds prescription drug disposal; and discounts on the best pharmacy meetings in the industry.
Partners in Pharmacy Cooperative (PIPCo) is an independent pharmacy cooperative owned and managed by its independent community pharmacy members in the north-central United States.
The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA®) represents the interests of America's community pharmacists, including the owners of more than 23,000 independent community pharmacies, pharmacy franchises, and chains.
