2002 Press Releases
Pharmacy Students, Residency Preceptors, Directors Come Together at Community Pharmacy Residency Showcase
Alexandria, Virginia - January 29, 2002
Pharmacy students will be given the unique opportunity to learn more about community pharmacy residency programs available around the country at the Community Pharmacy Residency Showcase.
The Showcase will be held Saturday, February 9, from 9 a.m. until noon in conjunction with the NCPA/CDMA (National Community Pharmacists Association/Chain Drug Marketing Association) Expo 2002 at the Las Vegas Hilton in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Residency preceptors and directors representing community pharmacy residency sites around the nation will be on hand to meet one-on-one with pharmacy students. Community pharmacy residencies are one year in length. Residents focus their efforts on developing innovative patient care services for the host site and learning management/ownership skills that will enhance their professional success.
Registration for the showcase is free for pharmacy students. For more information, contact NCPA Executive Resident Tom Murry at 800-544-7447 or Tom.Murry@ncpanet.org.
The National Community Pharmacists Association represents the pharmacist owners, managers, and employees of nearly 25,000 independent community pharmacies across the country. The nation's independent pharmacies, independent pharmacy franchises, and independent chains dispense nearly half of the nation's three billion retail prescription medicines and account for nearly $50 billion in prescription drug sales each year.
