Another Successful NCPA Convention in the Books

Some 3,000 pharmacists, students, and exhibitors came together Oct. 14-18 at the NCPA 2017 Annual Convention in Orlando, Fla. to explore the opportunities, solutions, and profits ahead for the $80 billion business of independent community pharmacy. Attendees participated in 20 educational sessions covering all dimensions of one's pharmacy business, enjoyed countless opportunities to share ideas during Shoot the Breeze sessions and networking events, and were able to take advantage of $100,000+ in hot deals and discounts at the NCPA Trade Show.

Future Annual Conventions

2018 - Boston, October 6-10

2019 - San Diego, October 26-29

2020 - Nashville, October 17-21

Attendees were wowed by Sunday's keynote speaker ZDoggMD, a health care thought leader and Stanford-trained internist who writes and produces award-winning medical parody videos about how we can "unbreak health care." Check out the special video he made just for his pharm fam.

William Espey, the brand guru for Chipotle, challenged independent pharmacists to offer MORE to their patients in his keynote address on Monday, Oct. 16: "Your brand has to be more than just you."

CPESNSM was the talk of the convention, a big win for independent pharmacy — and more importantly, for patients. CPESNSM is bringing new products to payers looking for this type of care management (separate from PBM contracts), generating new revenue opportunities for pharmacies. Learn more here.

At the 119th NCPA House of Delegates Oct. 17, David Smith, RPh, assumed his duties as the 2017-18 NCPA President and Jonathan Marquess, PharmD, CDE was named the Fifth Vice President.
