Every year in the U.S., more than 480,000 people die from tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke, making it the leading cause of preventable death in the country. Despite the huge publicity CVS grabbed in the last couple years for taking cigarettes out of their inventory mix, a decision the overwhelming majority of independent community pharmacists made long ago, there is much more to addressing the dangers and health risks of smoking than not selling cigarettes, and community pharmacists are ideally positioned to make a difference.
Community pharmacies all across the country are renewing their commitment to help their patients quit smoking, and gaining fiercely loyal customers in the process. In this program, your pharmacy peers will share the details of their successful smoking cessation programs and give you the business know how and keys to success.
