'Economies of Scale', is a reduction in costs, resulting from increased production and operational efficiencies. This concept in a pharmacy practice presents many opportunities, for example, compounding pharmacists working with prescribers on innovative treatments for patients with endocrine disorders and chronic pain syndromes. Despite Medication Therapy Management (MTM), and Collaborative Practice Agreements (CPAs) in community pharmacy practice, too many times, compounding, home infusion and other specialty pharmacy practices operate in "parallel universes" from the traditional community pharmacy practices. As a result, a duplication of standard operating procedures (SOPs), are repeated. These "parallel universes" contribute to increased costs and expenses and missed business opportunities, efficiencies and improve organizational effectiveness and financial success. This program will show you how to take advantage of "Economies of Scale’ and provide concepts and ideas on how to use your compounding practice to improve efficiencies and profit, for the pharmacy as a whole.
