On February 25, 2018, community pharmacy owners came together at Enhanced Services Boot Camp, presented by the NCPA Innovation Center in collaboration with the Tennessee Pharmacists Association, to explore new opportunities in health care for independent pharmacies. Shortages of primary care physicians and new interest in value-based networks have put pharmacy owners in a strong position to expand their pharmacies into profitable health care destinations and create new partnerships with other providers. This innovative program examined enhancing clinical services and reimbursement, physician practice collaborations, utilizing staff to optimize pharmacy workflow, and branding strategies for community pharmacies. Attendees left with tools and a plan of action to put these new ideas into practice.
