"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and over again, but expecting a different result."
- Albert Einstein
On Aug. 12-13, 2016, more than 65 community pharmacy owners from across the country came together at the inaugural Re-Engineering Your Pharmacy Practice Boot Camp to explore new opportunities in health care for independent pharmacies. Shortages of primary care physicians and new interest in value-based networks have put pharmacy owners in a strong position to expand their pharmacies into profitable health care destinations and create new partnerships with other providers. This innovative program examined enhancing clinical services and reimbursement, physician practice collaborations, utilizing staff to optimize pharmacy workflow, and documenting encounters with technology . Attendees left with tools and a plan of action to put these new ideas into practice.
One Atlanta pharmacist said about the program, "[This was the] best workshop I have ever been part of associated with pharmacy & health care, and I mean the best ever in my 44 years as a pharmacist."
