Members should take these steps to help make your workplace more secure:
- Complete the pharmacy security checklist. This is an excellent starting point. Work section by section to assess weaknesses and strengths in your pharmacy.
- View the DVD training video with your staff. The video gives excellent ideas, including ones that cost no money, that can help you in case of a crime.
- Become familiar with RxPatrol by visiting the Web site and signing up to become a user. They offer monthly security tips, reporting functions (see what crimes occur where) and the ability for you to report a crime.
- Use the Letter to the Editor included in your toolkit to help educate your consumers and local authorities on crimes against pharmacies.
- Put up the poster and decals that are provided to you in the toolkit.
