John "Lou" Woods is a 2014 PharmD candidate from Mercer University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Atlanta, GA. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia. Lou is from a small town in Reidsville, GA, where the city and surrounding communities thrive off of the exceptionally helpful and affable pharmacists who practice in their independently-owned pharmacies. He has experienced and witnessed firsthand the significance of the pharmacist in a growing community where the pharmacist is not only considered invaluable to customers for healthcare services, but also accommodating to them as a friend. It is through these hometown roots that Lou has developed a desire to effectively and appropriately help others, and he hopes to give back to his community through much diligence and hard work in his profession.

Lou is currently serving as the President of his NCPA chapter, Membership Vice President and Fundraising Chair of his APhA chapter, and Secretary of the Phi Lambda Sigma Leadership Society. In addition, he has had experience in specialty services such as home infusion and contemporary compounding. Lou is very motivated and willing to serve on NCPA's Student Leadership council and hopes to help both pharmacists and student pharmacists alike in their collaborative efforts to help the pharmacy profession stand out in the world of health care.
