Lisa Garza is a 2014 Pharm.D. candidate from Washington State University College of Pharmacy in Pullman, WA and earned her undergraduate degree from Gonzaga University. Lisa was inspired to enter the world of independent pharmacy when she saw the WSU business plan team compete and win first place in 2010. She was motivated to learn about the business side of pharmacy and to hopefully inspire more student to consider this career path. She began working on a business plan at that point and quickly recognized the vast opportunities and distinct autonomy that independent pharmacy has to offer. She is a member of the Good Neighbor Pharmacy NCPA Pruitt-Schutte Student Business Plan Team from the WSU chapter and holds other leadership positions including APhA-ASP Operation Heart Co-Chair for WSU, and Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity Beta Pi Chapter Community Service Chair. She feels privileged to be a member of the council for two years and is looking forward to building relationships with professionals and students alike. She aspires to bring more student leaders into NCPA so the field of independent pharmacies can continue to flourish and stand strong in the future.
