NCPA-PSES National Student President

NCPA-PSES Student Leadership Council (SLC)

1. NCPA-PSES National Student President
   • Serves as chairman of the SLC
   • Must have served previously as president-elect, e.g. chairman of the SRC.
   • Must have held an office in an NCPA Student Chapter
   • Must be an NCPA member.
     
     Responsibilities:
   • Serves as spokesperson for the NCPA - PSES
   • Assists NCPA Staff in dissemination of information regarding NCPA student activities to colleges of pharmacy
   • Moderates all meetings of the SLC
   • Attend NCPA Annual Convention, NCPA Steering Committee Forum, and NCPA Conference on National Legislation and Public Affairs
   • Vote on behalf of the NCPA-PSES in the NCPA House of Delegates (pending approval in 2003)
     
     Rights:
   • Receives travel and lodging to all NCPA conventions and meetings Timeline:
   • The president is installed at NCPA Annual Convention after serving as president-elect.

2. NCPA-PSES Secretary
   • Serves as scribe for the SLC
   • Elected by other SLC members
   • Must have previously served as an SRC member.
   • Must have held an office in an NCPA Student Chapter
   • Must be an NCPA member
     
     Responsibilities:
   • Reports all proceedings of the SLC to NCPA Staff, NCPA Executive Committee, and Officers
   • Replaces the President if he or she cannot fill their duties
   • Attend NCPA Annual Convention, NCPA Steering Committee Forum, and NCPA Conference on National Legislation and Public Affairs
   • Vote on behalf of the NCPA-PSES in the NCPA House of Delegates (pending approval in 2003)
   • Vote on behalf of the NCPA-PSES in the NCPA House of Delegates (pending approval in 2003)
     
     Rights:
   • Receives travel and lodging to all NCPA Annual Convention and NCPA Conference on National Legislation and Public Affairs

3. NCPA-PSES Student Leadership Council (SLC)
   • National executive committee of the NCPA-PSES
   • Comprised of eight NCPA student members (including National Student President) representing one of the eight NCPA-PSES Regions (see Appendix)
   • Must have previously served on the regional level as a member of the SRC
   • Students from the same school may not serve on the SLC
   • Students may not serve on the SLC in consecutive years
   • Must have held an office on the chapter level
   • Must be an NCPA member
     
     Responsibilities:
   • Determines how the NCPA-PSES will vote regarding policy proposals before the NCPA House of Delegates
   • Appoints members of the SRC
   • Selects student chapter leaders to serve on the NCPA—PSES Standing Committees
   • Each SLC member serves on an NCPA Steering Committee
   • The SLC, in collaboration with SRC, determine the Chapter of the Year, the following year's SLC delegates - elect, and the NCPA National Student president-elect
   • Attendance at NCPA Annual Convention and NCPA Steering Committee Forum, is required
   • Attendance at NCPA Conference on National Legislation and Public Affairs is suggested
     
     Rights:
   • Receive travel and lodging to participate in the NCPA Steering Committee Forum
   • Receive travel and lodging for NCPA's Annual Convention.
   • Considered first to receive an NCPA Foundation Presidential Scholarship
     
     Timeline:
   • The SLC is installed at the NCPA Annual Convention following service as a member of the SRC.
