NCPA Chapter Activity Spotlight

On March 15, 2010, the NCPA student chapter from the South Carolina College of Pharmacy (SCCP), Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), in cooperation with the local Christian Pharmacist Fellowship International (CPFI) chapter, compounded and packaged more than 30 pounds of 10% sulfur ointment. The compounded ointment will be used to treat scabies by two medical teams going to northern Haiti this month. The students also repackaged children’s chewable vitamins, with labels, into 30 count vials. The entire project, from weighing the sulfur powder to packaging and labeling, took approximately two hours. Chapter advisor, Dr. Ronald Nickel, instructs the compounding lab at SCCP and assisted his students with the activity. As faculty advisor to both the NCPA and CPFI chapters, Dr. Nickel is rightfully very proud of SCCP's student members! Keep up the good work South Carolina College of Pharmacy!
