Interested in National Pharmacy Legislation and Government Affairs?

Anyone, including student pharmacists, can promote our issues to policymakers by using the NCPA Legislative Action Center! Please send an important message to your member of the U.S. House of Representatives by clicking here. NCPA is thanking members of Congress for achieving progress on crucial pharmacy provisions like PBM transparency, DME and AMP. We also need to ask Congress to support:
  • Additional federal PBM reforms to preserve patient choice of pharmacy and reduce abusive PBM pharmacy auditing practices—Support H.R. 5234

  • Stop the seeming misuse of patient health information to restrict choice and boost the profits of CVS Caremark and other PBMs

  • Allow Medicare beneficiaries to continue obtaining diabetes testing supplies at community pharmacies—Support H.R. 5235

  • Preserve the right of pharmacists to compound medications
Sign up for regular action alerts that provide updates and requests for you to contact your member of Congress on issues of importance. Put a local face on national issues, your voice is important. Ensure your representatives in Washington, DC understand the important role you play in health care delivery to the community.

NCPA Chapter of the Year Application and End of Year Reports

NCPA recognizes the top three chapters and the most improved chapter each year at our Annual Convention during the NCPA Foundation Ceremonies. The award is based on activities during the preceding school year. Criteria include: neighborhood community service, creating members, promoting independent pharmacy, advocating legislative action, fundraising/misc., business plan submission, MTM/wellness challenge report submission, and political action challenge report submission. Click here for the NCPA Chapter of the Year Application and the NCPA Chapter of the Year Directions and Grading Criteria. If your chapter submitted a Political Advocacy Challenge Report and/or an MTM/Wellness challenge report, you do not need to submit it again for your Chapter of the Year Report.

If your chapter did not submit a Chapter of the Year Report, we ask that you submit an NCPA Student Chapter Year-End Report Form before May 31 and briefly describe some of the activities and/or projects in which the chapter has taken part this academic year, any fundraisers, and any comments or suggestions to improve NCPA Student Programs. Chapters that have completed the Chapter of the Year Report need not complete an NCPA Student Chapter Year-End Report Form.
