Independent Community Pharmacies Score Highly in Customer Satisfaction Survey

Alexandria, Va. August 24, 2015 - National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) CEO B. Douglas Hoey, RPh, MBA issued the following statement in response to the J.D. Power 2015 U.S. Pharmacy StudySM released today:

"Congratulations to the independent community pharmacists and owners who achieved such high customer satisfaction ratings in this year's survey by J.D. Power. Locally owned and operated pharmacies Good Neighbor Pharmacy, Health Mart and The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy bested the competition in their market segment of the survey. The patient-first approach of these and all independent community pharmacies to customer service resonates with consumers and this study reaffirms that fact.

"Separately, patients expressed much lower (and declining) satisfaction overall with mail order pharmacies. This supports the importance of health plan sponsors allowing patients to choose a pharmacy that best meets their needs without financial penalty, a position advocated repeatedly by NCPA."
