ALEXANDRIA, Va. (March 6, 2019)Brossart Pharmacy Compounding and Medical Equipment in Cleves, Ohio has earned the National Community Pharmacists Association's NICE Award (NCPA Innovation Center Excellence) for Best Marketing Promotion. This is the second year of the NICE Awards competition, which was created to recognize pharmacies for their efforts to enhance their value, promote their services, and better serve their communities.

"Congratulations to Brossart Pharmacy Compounding and Medical Equipment and its president John Brossart for earning the NICE Award for Best Marketing Promotion," said Kurt Proctor, PhD, president of the NCPA Innovation Center. "The NICE Awards spotlight the best of community pharmacy branding and marketing – the innovations and redesigns that have made promotions more effective and patients' experiences more rewarding. Combining Small Business Saturday with the upcoming holiday season was a clever way of engaging the community and promoting the pharmacy at the same time."

Brossart Pharmacy Compounding and Medical Equipment decided to go all out for last year's Small Business Saturday on Nov. 24, 2018. They extended the pharmacy's hours, hired a "professional" Santa to be in the pharmacy greeting local children, and outside had a 20-foot inflatable Santa to help people locate them. Their advertising efforts through flyers, social media, and word-of-mouth were so successful that the pharmacy had three times the children attending as were present for a similar effort in 2017.

"This year, Santa was busy from start to finish," said owner John Brossart.

John's wife Karen Brossart added, "Our advertising also brought in several new faces that we hope will turn into customers."

Brossart Pharmacy Compounding and Medical Equipment was established in 1989. Its products and services include standard retail, compounding, immunizations/vaccinations, diabetes products and education, vitamins, durable medical equipment, refill mobile app, and health screenings.

Founded in 1898, the National Community Pharmacists Association is the voice for the community pharmacist, representing 22,000 pharmacies that employ 250,000 individuals nationwide. Community pharmacies are rooted in the communities where they are located and are among America's most accessible health care providers. To learn more, visit
