ALEXANDRIA, Va. (March 6, 2019)City Drug Store Health Mart in Parsons, Tenn. has earned the National Community Pharmacists Association's NICE Award (NCPA Innovation Center Excellence) for Best Internal Remodel. This is the second year of the NICE Awards competition, which was created to recognize pharmacies for their efforts to enhance their value, promote their services, and better serve their communities.

"Congratulations to City Drug Store Health Mart and owner Kim Phillips for earning the NICE Award for Best Internal Remodel," said Kurt Proctor, PhD, president of the NCPA Innovation Center. "The NICE Awards spotlight the best of community pharmacy branding and marketing – the innovations and redesigns that have made promotions more effective and patients' experiences more rewarding. Kim did a great of modernizing the pharmacy and making it more visually appealing to patients."

City Drug Store Health Mart completed an extensive internal remodel in the summer of 2017. Among the renovations were a private consultation room, a compounding and adherence packaging counter, a bigger front end near the main entrance, and new shelving and slat wall displays. These updates resulted in more patient privacy during consultations and increased space for customers to shop and wait. The store also relocated an office and restroom, built a new employee break room, replaced the flooring, and applied a fresh coat of paint.

For proof the remodel accomplished its objective, Phillips points to this recent customer comment: "Wonderful service, beautiful store, and the most helpful and friendly staff. Absolutely awesome."

City Drug Store Health Mart was established in 2003. Its products and services include standard retail, medication synchronization, diabetes products and services, adherence packaging, free delivery, blood pressure screening, compounding, drive-thru, flu shots, immunizations, Medicare Part D enrollment assistance, and medication reviews.
