PBM regulation bill heads to S.C. governor

The South Carolina General Assembly on Monday unanimously ratified S.359, a PBM licensure and regulation bill. The measure would require PBM licensure, increase reimbursement transparency by limiting retroactive adjudication fees and claim adjustments, and control anti-competitive practices. The bill would also strengthen the state’s MAC transparency and fair pharmacy audit laws. It’s now on its way to Gov. Henry McMaster for his signature. Kudos to the South Carolina Pharmacy Association and all pharmacy advocates who worked to get the bill ratified.
